Disagree mostly I m afraid with your comments.

Having extensively used Pertelian on Vista Ultimate 32 bit full and RC versions , as reported to Alex previously ,I have had no problems with System stats and Network stats .....although Volume Control did not seem to work properly anyway on XP when using the Feb 07 update.

I am looking at these plugins while I type this reply on Vista Ultimate !

Since we don't yet have a solid Vista platform, we could surely use an organized listing of issues that Pertelian has with Vista.

PS: We might need to differentiate what platforms and versions of Vista are being used (ie. Ultimate, 32/64 bit, etc)

As a starting point for Windows Vista issues I would recommend disabling UAC from within Control Panel -> User Accounts. This causes more issues than it solves.

It should be noted that disabling UAC also disables the only security mechanism vista has.

You should not be making decisions about other peoples security setups, based on your opinion only.

It's my recommendation to note disable UAC for Windows Vista, as this does in fact remove the primary security feature in the OS. However, Pertelian (and it's apps) have trouble with UAC, as they can't properly save settings info to their home directories, so you need to allow the Pertelian daemon to run as Administrator (still not a great solution, to be honest, but this way UAC is still mostly in tact). This can be done by the properties dialog of the executable (something like "always run as administrator").

Hopefully later this bug will be solved by the Pertelian Dev team.

I am using the latest update 03 09 07 and can report that all plugins I use work correctly with Vista Ultimate, having reinstalled my system about 6 weeks ago.
I appreciate the work done to reduce / eliminate problems by Alex and team.
There fore any bugs that may creep in the future on my dual boot system ,must be self induced by 3rd party software or system updates as was thought b4.

Thanks for the report Tweakfiend. We want to make sure we test this to death before we officially state we support Vista. Your insights on this helps us to this end.

I must agree with mrasmus. DO NOT disable UAC.

Disabling it is a massive security risk and may actuary break some programs that store data in your user folder.

Please see my post "Fix for all Vista 32-bit Issues" for details on a Pertelian / UAC workaround.

Hey Everyone,
As you know, there have been quite a few releases since these posts started and we have been working very hard on official Vista support. Well, we tested all Pertelian features with Windows Vista (32 bit) without disabling UAC and have not run into any major issues.
Is anyone having any issues with the latest releases of Pertelian running on Vista?
